All reservation deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances, except if The Contemporary Canine cancels the sale before delivery.
Deposits may transfer to future litters only if:
Selected puppy becomes unavailable due to health concerns
No suitable puppy is available for the Buyer
Deposits are not transferable to another person or family.
Once final payment is made and pickup/delivery is scheduled, no refunds will be issued for:
Change of plans
Allergies
Housing/landlord issues
Financial challenges
Buyer’s remorse
The puppy has been held exclusively, incurring care and opportunity costs.
No monetary refunds for health issues. Within the 72-hour health guarantee:
Return puppy for replacement (not refund)
Full veterinary report required
Breeder may request second opinion
Same applies to 1-year genetic guarantee.
If Buyer can no longer keep puppy at any time:
Must return to The Contemporary Canine
Cannot rehome, sell, transfer, or surrender to shelter/rescue
No refund provided
Breeder assumes responsibility for rehoming.
If Buyer misses pickup timeframe:
Daily boarding fees may apply
After 7 days: puppy + all payments forfeited
Protects waitlist families and puppy well-being.
All transport/flight nanny fees non-refundable once booked.
Buyer responsible for rescheduling fees due to weather, airlines, or delays.
No refunds for:
Adult size, weight, coat changes
Temperament/behavior differences
Training challenges
Routine vet bills
Breeder may cancel prior to pickup if:
False/misleading Buyer information
Unsuitable home environment
Puppy health concerns
Full refund provided (unless Buyer misconduct).
By placing a deposit or purchasing, Buyer agrees to all terms in this policy.
